The recently tabled Report of the Select Senate Committee Inquiry into Stillbirth Research and Education recommended that the Australian Government lead a process to develop and implement a National Action Plan to reduce the rate of stillbirth by 20% over the next three years.

As part of this process, the Minister for Health has proposed that a roundtable of stakeholders meet on 12th February 2019 to assist the Federal Government in the development of this National Action Plan.

Stillbirth Foundation Australia and the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Stillbirth (Stillbirth CRE) are facilitating a collaborative response from the Australian stillbirth community, to inform the round table meeting in February 2019. As a representative of an organisation that submitted to the Inquiry, we are inviting your input into the development of actions that would inform the Stillbirth National Action Plan. Organisations are encouraged to work collaboratively to develop Actions.

An Action Template is provided for organisations to clearly identify actions to address specific recommendations as outlined in the report by the Senate Committee Inquiry into Stillbirth Research and Education. For each action developed, please identify:

  • Overview of the issue requiring action
  • Target / goal
  • Required policy response
  • How the action addresses cultural and linguistic differences /Indigenous health
  • Implementation / by who
  • Timeframe
  • Proposed resourcing / costing

Please tick all priority areas you would like to develop action items for.  Please note, more than one priority can be selected.
